The coastal city of Sochi is gearing up for a bout of inclement weather, with heavy rain and strong winds forecast for November 29 and 30. According to local meteorologists, southerly winds with gusts of 15-18 m/s are expected, potentially causing hazardous conditions.

In response to these forecasts, the city administration has urged residents and tourists to take several precautions to ensure safety. These include staying indoors as much as possible, securing outdoor items, avoiding unnecessary travel, and keeping updated on weather alerts. Additionally, residents and tourists are advised to prepare for potential power outages, avoid walking or driving through flooded areas, and check with accommodation providers for any weather-related advisories.

Despite the impending weather, the city administration has not issued any new instructions for residents or tourists in response to the events reported by the "SochiStream" portal. This includes a reported storm in Sochi's Mamai district that destroyed the arches of "Santa Barbara," a tourist attraction modelled after those in the American city of Santa Barbara. It's important to note that the destruction of the arches was not related to the weather conditions previously predicted and advised by meteorologists and the city administration.

The priority in clearing the uprooted trees in Sochi has been given to clearing the roads. Work to cut and remove the uprooted trees continued throughout the night, with most of them now cleared. Residents and tourists are also advised not to park their cars under trees, billboards, or other structures that could topple due to the wind.

Alexei Kopaigorodsky, the head administrator of Sochi, has instructed all city services to operate in enhanced mode. As the dates approach, staying informed through local weather updates will be crucial. Possible thunderstorms are expected on the morning and day of November 30, adding another layer of unpredictability to the weather situation.
