Young Leader of Afenifere, Eniola Ojajuni, voices serious worries about his personal safety, accusing the Nigerian Police Force of potential involvement.

Traditional Leaders in Ondo Accused of Involvement in Kidnappings by Afenifere Youth Representative

In an interview with Sahara Reporters, Eniola Ojajuni—the National Youth President of Afenifere—has voiced concerns about his safety, accusing the Nigerian Police Force of targeting him due to his recent comments regarding his abduction.

Ojajuni alleges that the police falsely claimed involvement in his release, asserting instead that it was the Ondo State Forest Guards who rescued him from captivity. According to reports on our website, Ojajuni further accused the police of showing undue interest in his activities following the incident, suggesting their actions were retaliatory.

These allegations stem from Ojajuni's abduction and subsequent release, which he claims was facilitated by the Ondo State Forest Guards. He strongly contests the police's claim of responsibility for his release, describing their statements as false. Ojajuni challenges the police authorities to provide any proof of invitation to him and urges the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to investigate the handling of his case by the Ondo State Police Command.

In addition to his allegations against the police, Ojajuni accused four unnamed traditional rulers in Ondo State of being complicit in his kidnapping. This claim raises concerns about the integrity of traditional leadership and their role in community safety.

Following his release, Ojajuni's wife reported the incident to the Ijede Police Station in Lagos, as well as the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Ondo State Police Command and the Department of State Services (DSS) Ondo State Command. In a statement, Ojajuni categorically denied the Nigerian Police's claim of inviting him after his release, stating that he had received no such invitation in any form.

Ojajuni was released alongside another victim, a man from Jos, whose ransom was paid into his wife's account for delivery to the kidnappers. He expressed frustration over the police's apparent attempt to distort the facts and mislead the public on such a sensitive issue, describing their actions as "irresponsible" and "unacceptable."
