Traditional hotel Sauerhof in Baden welcomes new proprietor, bringing renewed optimism

Bloody hell, it's about them bloody hotel this time, ain't it? The old Grand Hotel Sauerhof in Baden's seen better days, and it ain't been no picnic for its previous owner, Siegmund Kahlbacher. But now, after a court settlement, Upper Austrian investor Jürgen Hesz is the new kid on the block.

This fella's introduced himself as the new manager, but no future plans for the Sauerhof have been shared yet. The fuckin' building's been standin' empty for a decade, rottin' away due to strict regulations from the Federal Monument Authority. Horror show, ain't it?

However, Kahlbacher still has the option to buy the Sauerhof back by the end of the year, according to the settlement. Hesz says he's gonna wait till then before makin' any plans for renovation or resale.

Kahlbacher's talked up plans for the Sauerhof before, most recently a couple months back. He claimed he had a new partner, and construction was to start within three weeks. They were gonna convert it into a health hotel in 30 months, but no work's begun yet.

There's trouble at the Hotel Sacher in Badener Helenenstraße too, where Kahlbacher planned to make another health hotel. Sadly, the Hotel Sacher Baden operating company's in bankruptcy, and it'll be the insolvency administrator who decides whether it carries on or not.

It seems Hesz's willing to continue Kahlbacher's plans for the Sauerhof, as long as it's profitable. He's lookin' for the right partner from the medical field who he trusts. Ain't a hotel operator himself, but he's open to a buyback if Kahlbacher can cough up the cash.

Baden's tourism got other long-term concerns, too. There's no new operator for the Schloss Hotel Weikersdorf, and it's closed following piss-poor insolvency proceedings at the end of last year. The city misses its former 164 beds bad.

In-fucking-teresting stuff, ain't it? I can give ya updates from the source or deets about other health hotel transformations in the region if you want, mate. Just let me know.

  1. Jürgen Hesz, the new operator of the Grand Hotel Sauerhof, has announced that he will wait until the end of the year to decide on future plans for the hotel, as Kahlbacher still has the option to buy it back.
  2. Despite the insolvency of the Hotel Sacher Baden operating company, Hesz is willing to continue Kahlbacher's plans for the Sauerhof if it proves profitable, and is seeking a trusted partner from the medical field to help.
  3. The city of Baden is also facing issues with the Schloss Hotel Weikersdorf, as it has been closed due to poor insolvency proceedings and the absence of a new operator, leaving a gap of 164 beds in its tourism industry.
