Trade barriers, job losses, and principles: Harris criticizes Trump
Let loose, unfiltered, and uncensored:
Kamala Harris, ex-presidential hopeful, ripped into President Trump and his administration like a operating a bull in a china shop, according to ABC News. Her fiery speech, given at the 20-year celebration of Emerge - a group that helps Democratic women run for state offices - couldn't have landed at a more perfect time, as it occurred during the Trump administration's initial 100 days.
"Instead of this administration moving forward with America's noble ideals, we're witnessing a total rejection of these very ideals," Harris blurted out, her voice dripping with disdain.
She didn't hold back when talking about the new tariffs, government spending cuts, and the general direction of the administration's policies.
"Across the political spectrum, folks realizing the president's hazardous tariffs are biting into workers and their loved ones, swelling the price of routine necessities, obliterating retirement funds they've saved for years, and choking American businesses – both big and small – making them let go of employees, postpone hiring, and defer investing decisions," she stated, her words laced with frustration.
Harris urged Americans to rally together if the U.S. system of checks and balances were to crumble.
"Always remember, this land doesn't belong to anyone camped out in the White House. It belongs to you. It belongs to us. It belongs to us, the people," Harris asserted, her tone raising a call to arms.
A little side note, in the summer of 2024, Joe Biden departed the U.S. presidential race. Harris, Vice President at the time, subsequently took over the reins.
On November 5, the U.S. held its 60th presidential election, and, you guessed it, Trump once again grabbed the victory.
After her election loss, Harris spoke to her supporters and acknowledged Trump's presidential victory.
