Town's Prosecutor's Office Competitively Producing Stunning Video

In the heart of Shymkent, a city grappling with escalating road accidents, the prosecutor's office decided to team up with the youth to create a jarring, yet necessary, message about the perils of street racing. The video, now making waves online, graphically portrays a street race within city limits, showcasing the reckless disregard for rules and innocent bystanders that such games foster.

The film spotlights a group of young thrill-seekers engaged in a real-life race to the nearest traffic light, all in a bid to impress a girl and snag her digits. The video serves as a wake-up call, reminding every resident to tread carefully behind the wheel and stringently follow traffic regulations.

In 2024, Kazakhstan witnessed a staggering 98.9% surge in road traffic incidents compared to the previous year, with a total of 31,597 accidents recorded. As a grim consequence, 43,452 people were injured, a staggering 109% increase from the previous year, with 2,579 fatalities, a minuscule 1.4% uptick.

Alexei Alekseev, a renowned road safety expert, has spoken out about the root cause of this crisis: a pervasive disregard for traffic laws and the prevailing low driving culture. Previously, we reported on a catastrophic road traffic incident on the Almaty-Bishkek highway on June 21, which claimed the lives of five individuals.
