Town of Priepert welcomes its latest mayor

In the small municipality of Priepert, a significant change has taken place. After a peaceful election held on an unspecified date, Cindy Kiewitz-Schade was elected as the new mayor.

Cindy Kiewitz-Schade, a well-known and active figure in the community, has been a resident of Priepert for 30 years. She has served in various roles, including treasurer of the local football club, head of the "Project Priepert" youth initiative, and a member of the Havelfest committee.

The election, which saw 177 out of 279 eligible voters participate, represented a turnout of 63.44 percent. One vote was declared invalid, leaving 176 valid votes to be counted by the six election helpers involved in the vote count.

Cindy Kiewitz-Schade ran as an independent candidate in the election, a decision that was supported by Manfred Giesenberg, the former mayor of Priepert. Manfred endorsed Cindy as his successor and encouraged her to run for mayor. He expressed confidence in her ability to fill the position, having stepped down himself due to a conflict of interest.

Interestingly, there was no opposition in the election for the position of mayor. Cindy's election was not opposed by any other candidates, making her the uncontested winner.

The final election results were confirmed by the election committee in a public meeting held in the conference room of the Mecklenburgische Kleinseenplatte administration on Tuesday. Manfred Giesenberg, who had previously resigned from his position as head of the Mecklenburgische Kleinseenplatte administration, also attended the meeting to witness the confirmation of Cindy's election.

Cindy Kiewitz-Schade had been acting as mayor since early May, following Manfred Giesenberg's resignation due to wanting to spend more time with his family. The current deputy of Cindy Kiewitz-Schade as the First Deputy Mayor of Priepert is not specified in the available search results.

This new leadership in Priepert is expected to bring about changes and continuity in the community, with Cindy's proven dedication and involvement in various community projects.
