Mathieu van der Poel Triumphs in Tour de France Stage 3 Despite Team Mate's Crash

Mathieu van der Poel, the current leader of the Tour de France, secured a thrilling victory in Stage 3, edging out Tadej Pogacar at the finish line. However, his teammate, Jasper Philipsen, crashed out of the race, sustaining a broken collarbone.

Van der Poel's winning bike, a Canyon Aeroad CFR Di2, is a testament to cutting-edge technology and high-performance design. The bike boasts a flagship, superlight carbon frame, a versatile, adjustable carbon cockpit, and an optimised aero seatpost for aerodynamic efficiency.

Equipped with a top-of-the-line Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic shifting groupset and a Shimano power meter, the bike offers precise power measurement and lightning-quick responses. The DT Swiss ARC carbon wheels enhance speed and responsiveness, while the minimal maintenance bearings ensure smooth performance.

Jasper Philipsen's bike, also an Aeroad CFR, was adorned with a green paint scheme to honour his lead in the points classification. Unfortunately, his crash occurred at the day's intermediate sprint point, with Cofidis's Bryan Coquard also involved.

In the customisation programme 'MyCanyon', the Canyon Aeroad CFR features a unique paint scheme, adding a personal touch to the race-proven bike. The bike is designed for hard-surface road racing, with a focus on aerodynamics and lightweight performance suitable for various road conditions and terrains.

Wider tyres (30mm) are becoming popular among the peloton, and the Canyon Aeroad CFR is equipped with these for enhanced grip and comfort. The aero seatpost, adjustable-width aero cockpit, and a Selle Royal Flite saddle complete the bike's high-performance setup.

In the Tour de France, van der Poel is using Shimano Dura-Ace C60 wheelsets, which feature carbon bladed spokes and redesigned hubs for improved performance.

Van der Poel's victory in Stage 3 and the overall leaders jersey remains with Alpecin-Deceuninck after the final stage, marking a successful tour for the team so far. Despite Philipsen's unfortunate crash, the team will undoubtedly continue to push for success in the remaining stages.
