Esports World Cup 2025: Week 6 Heats Up with Team Falcons and Team Liquid Leading the Pack

The 2025 Esports World Cup is reaching its climax, and the competition is heating up as we enter Week 6. The Club Championship standings are tightly contested, with Team Falcons and Team Liquid leading the pack.

Team Falcons, the defending champions, have been consistently impressive, winning each of the past six events they have attended. Their recent victory streak includes Week 6 of EWC 25, where they could produce a winner from anywhere, extending their winning streak to an impressive 18 matches. The team is still competing in PUBG, Rocket League, and Tekken 8 this weekend, offering more chances to catch up with Team Liquid in the Club Championship standings.

Team Liquid, on the other hand, leads the standings in the Club Championship. Despite facing fewer games this week compared to Team Falcons, they have had strong performances, winning key tournaments like Chess, MSC, and the FC Pro World Championship. However, they underperformed in the first two days of PUBG, while Team Falcons have impressed.

The current top contenders for the Club Championship are Team Falcons and Team Liquid, with both clubs closely competing for the $7,000,000 prize. Team Falcons currently lead with 4,700 points, but Team Liquid is close behind with 4,200 points. Both teams have competitors in all the remaining events: Street Fighter 6, CROSSFIRE, and Counter-Strike 2, which could decide the title in the final week of competition.

Other notable contenders include Team Vitality, Twisted Minds, and Virtus.pro, but they have significantly fewer points and face tougher odds to claim first place. Team Vitality, in third place, has a strong chance particularly in Counter-Strike 2 but would need Team Falcons to falter in all final events. Virtus.pro has already secured 200 points from Teamfight Tactics in the Club Championship, and they, along with Twisted Minds, are two clubs to look out for in the chasing pack.

In Tekken 8, the competition is particularly fierce between South Korea and Pakistan. Six out of seven South Korean players qualified for Stage 2 of the competition, while only two out of five Pakistani players could make it through. Pakistani player Arslan Siddique, highly regarded in the scene, had to fight through the lower bracket in his group after a loss to South Korean player Jeon Sang-hyun. Siddique is one of the favorites to take the EWC title in Tekken 8.

The Esports World Cup 2025 Week 6 Championship Weekend will declare four competition winners, and the outcome could have a significant impact on the overall Club Championship standings, especially in PUBG Battlegrounds, where both Team Liquid and Team Falcons are contenders. The final week of competition promises to be an exciting one, with the Club Championship title up for grabs.
