The games will be held in various locations, including the Walramhalle, the sports hall of the Realschule in Menden, and the multi-purpose hall in Halingen. The opening ceremony will take place in the Walramhalle at 5 pm on August 22, featuring a performance by the SV Menden gymnasts.
The Sauerland Cup is considered the best tournament in Germany, according to Raimund Giacuzzo, the organiser of the event for SG Menden Sauerland Wolves. The Wolves, the host team, will have a busy schedule, with their B juniors playing in the multi-purpose hall in Halingen against ATSV Habenhausen, HSG Dutenhofen Münchholzhausen, and Bergischer HC. The A juniors will face MT Talents, VfL Horneburg, and Bergischer HC in the preliminary round of the Sauerland Cup.
The first game of the Mendener team will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday (August 23) in the Walramhalle. The preliminary round of the Sauerland Cup handball games will start at 8:45 am on the same day.
The first men's team of SG Menden Sauerland will play a friendly match against TuSEM Essen II at 7 pm, an event that includes a food truck for the teams for the first time.
The chairman of SG Menden Sauerland, Frank Schlücking, has revealed that the B juniors have stated they want to win the tournament. The Wolves, who won the Sauerland Cup only once in 1993, will be aiming to add another victory to their history this year.
