Tournament of Snooker World Open in Yushan: Preferred picks for betting, anticipation, and reward of £170,000
In the heart of China, the Snooker World Open is currently underway at the Sport Centre in Yushan. The event, known for its grandeur and passion for the sport, has been attracting a large audience, with fans of the game showing their support for the players, particularly for the legendary Ronnie O'Sullivan.
O'Sullivan, aged 48, was inducted into the Billard Hall of Fame in Yushan a day before the tournament began, and his matches have been met with thunderous applause. However, his journey in the tournament came to an end in the fourth round, losing to Hossein Vafei, a young and ambitious player aged 29.
Vafei's victory over O'Sullivan was not the only surprise of the tournament. Zak Surety, a promising young player, scored a maximum break in the Snooker World Open, his first in his professional career. Unfortunately, he couldn't sustain his momentum, losing his match against Ding Junhui despite the maximum break, losing 3-5.
Meanwhile, Judd Trump, the current betting favourite to win the tournament with odds of 2.63, has been in top form. He defeated Sanderson Lam 5-2 in the opening rounds, followed by Fan Zhengyi, Rory Thor, and most recently Barry Hawkins in the fourth round, with two more century breaks in each match. Trump will face Kyren Wilson in the quarterfinals.
Other notable players who have advanced to the quarterfinals include Ali Carter and Neil Robertson, both of whom are contenders for the upcoming Snooker World Championship. However, the World Championship is yet to announce its qualifiers or contenders after recent Open events.
The Snooker World Open, one of the last events before the Snooker World Championship in April, has a prize fund of 170,000 GBP (approximately 198,982 EUR). The tournament is a big event in China, with players being warmly welcomed and the hall being built specifically for hosting snooker tournaments.
In the Women's Snooker World Championship, also held in China, a good audience turned up to support the players. More details about this event will be shared as they become available.
