In the city where tennis legends like Guillermo Vilas, José Luis Clerc, Alberto Mancini, Gabriela Sabatini, and many more have triumphed, the Rome Masters 1000's main draw was announced on Monday. Six Argentine tennis players will grace the event, with Juan Manuel Cerúndolo and Román Burruchaga securing their spots in the final phase of qualifying.

He may face Frenchman Hugo Gaston (78th) or Chilean Nicolás Jarry (53rd), last year's finalist, in the second round.
Sebastián Báez (33rd), a former ATP 500 Rio champion in 2025 and a Clay Court king with thirteen wins this season, will square off against the victor of the clash between Frenchmen Quentin Halys (52nd) and Benjamin Bonzi (58th) in the second round.
Tomás Etcheverry (51st) continues his quest for top performances; so far this season, his best achievement is winning two consecutive matches at the ATP 250 Santiago. In his Rome Masters debut, he'll face Serbian Laslo Djere (64th), whom he lost to in Hamburg 2023.
For the first time in their careers, Camilo Ugo Carabelli (60th) and Francisco Comesaña (63rd) will make their mark at the Roman tournament. Carabelli will take on a qualifier, while Comesaña, hailing from Mar del Plata, will go up against German Daniel Altmaier (71st), who defeated him at the 2025 Australian Open.
Mariano Navone (99th) returns to the Rome Masters for the second year in a row. In the first round, he'll play against local Federico Cina (323rd), who's been given a wildcard spot in the 128-player bracket aiming to clinch the trophy. If Navone advances, he'll face Italian Jannik Sinner, the world's #1, after his three-month doping suspension.
Cerúndolo and Burruchaga Sail Through Qualifiers
Juan Manuel Cerúndolo (115th) overcame Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert (148th) 6-3, 7-6(6) in the first round of qualifying. He'll face Taiwanese Chun-hsin Tseng (102nd) for a spot in the main draw.
Román Burruchaga (135th) victoriously defeated Colombian Daniel Galán (124th) 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 in two hours and 23 minutes. In the next round, he'll wrestle with Spanish Pablo Carreño Busta (98th), who undid Argentine Thiago Tirante (133rd) 7-6(5), 2-1 ret.
As for Juan Pablo Ficovich (152nd) and Federico Gómez (117th), they both fell short, losing to Alexander Shevchenko (97th) and Valentin Royer (117th), respectively.
Among women, Solana Sierra (111°) and Lourdes Carlé (122°) dropped their matches to Romanian Elena Gabriela Ruse (44°) and Australian Maya Joint (78°), respectively.
