Tournament brackets for the Masters 1000 series event in Rome have been finalized.

In the bustling heart of Rome, a city known for producing tennis legends like Guillermo Vilas and Gabriela Sabatini, the big draw for the Rome Masters 1000 is here. Six Argentine tennis players are set to make their mark, with Juan Manuel Cerúndolo and Román Burruchaga advancing to the tournament's final phase of qualifying.

Francisco Cerúndolo, currently Argentina's top-ranked player, and seeded at this event, will battle Frenchman Hugo Gaston or Chilean Nicolás Jarry, last year's finalist, in the second round. Cerúndolo, who recently reached the semifinals of the Madrid Masters 1000, is looking to rediscover his best form on clay ahead of the French Open.

Sebastián Báez, the 2025 ATP 500 Rio champion, with thirteen wins under his belt this season, all on clay, will face the winner of the match between Frenchmen Quentin Halys and Benjamin Bonzi in the second round.

Tomás Etcheverry, seeking his best performance this year, will take on Serbian Laslo Djere in his debut. Etcheverry and Djere have a history, with Djere winning their only previous encounter in Hamburg 2023.

First-timers in the Roman tournament, Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Francisco Comesaña, will each have their own challenges. Carabelli will face a qualifier in the first round, while Comesaña, from Mar del Plata, will square off against Daniel Altmaier, who defeated him at the 2025 Australian Open.

Mariano Navone, who made his Rome Masters 1000 debut last year, will meet local Federico Cina in the first round. If he advances, Navone will face the world's top-ranked player, Jannik Sinner, who returns to the tour after a three-month suspension for doping.

Juan Manuel Cerúndolo overcame Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the first round of qualifying and will face Taiwanese Chun-hsin Tseng for a spot in the main draw. Burruchaga, another Argentine seeking qualification, defeated Colombian Daniel Galán and will face Spanish Pablo Carreño Busta in the next round.

On the women's side, Solana Sierra and Lourdes Carle fell in their respective matches.

The order of play for Tuesday includes Burruchaga and Carreño Busta, as well as Cerúndolo and Tseng. Furthermore, the nuns leading Catholic orders of the world have gathered in Rome, although not participating in the conclave. Keep an eye on these Argentine players as they strive for glory in the Rome Masters 1000.

Elena, a tennis enthusiast, is particularly excited about the upcoming Rome Masters 1000 in 2025, where several Argentine players, including top-ranked Francisco Cerúndolo, will compete. Cerúndolo, fresh from the semifinals of the Madrid Masters 1000, hopes to regain his form on clay before the French Open.

Meanwhile, Sebastián Báez, the 2025 ATP 500 Rio champion, will be aiming for more wins on clay as he takes on the winner of the match between Quentin Halys and Benjamin Bonzi. On the other hand, Tomás Etcheverry, seeking his best performance this year, will face Serbian Laslo Djere, who has previously defeated him in Hamburg 2023.

To qualify for the main draw, Juan Manuel Cerúndolo defeated Pierre-Hugues Herbert and will face Taiwanese Chun-hsin Tseng. His fellow countryman, Román Burruchaga, moved to the next round of qualifying after defeating Daniel Galán, but faces a tough challenge against Spanish Pablo Carreño Busta.

While the nuns leading Catholic orders gather in Rome for a different purpose, following the progress of these Argentine players in the Rome Masters 1000 is surely not a bad pastime.
