Tourist plunges to demise in Italian Alps of Dolomites, Germany
In a tragic incident, a German tourist lost his life while hiking in the Bosconero group of the Italian Dolomites, near Cortina d'Ampezzo. The accident occurred in September 2025, and the exact circumstances are still under investigation.
The tourist is said to have fallen approximately 80 meters off a high trail. Sadly, all efforts to save him were unsuccessful. The authorities have not yet released information about the deceased's age or exact origin, choosing to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time.
The Bosconero group, situated south of Cortina d'Ampezzo, is a breathtaking region consisting of several peaks. The highest among them is the Sasso de Bosconero, standing at 2,468 meters.
The incident was reported by the mountain rescue service, who were alerted by the tourist's companion, also a German national. The region, set to host the Winter Olympics next year, is a popular destination for tourists from around the world.
