In the latest incident highlighting concerns about tourist safety in Ibiza, a 31-year-old British holidaymaker was run over in San Antonio early this morning. The incident occurred on Doctor Fleming Avenue around 2.10am.

The Civil Guard, local police, and an ambulance quickly responded to the scene. Paramedics stabilized the patient at the scene in two ambulances before transporting him to the private Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic at 2.35am.

San Antonio has been under the spotlight this year due to a series of accidents and fatalities involving British tourists. In the space of two weeks in July, two young Brits died falling from balconies at Ibiza Rocks Hotel. The victims were identified as Gary Kelly, 19, from Dundee, and Evan Thomson, 26, from Aberdeen.

The victim of the current incident was brought to the clinic by the ambulance, but no further information has been provided about the person who ran over him. The hospital admitted the injured man, but his identity beyond being a British national remains undisclosed.

In a separate incident two weeks ago, a 23-year-old British tourist suffered a spinal cord injury, a fracture to the sixth vertebra, head trauma, and a cervical injury after jumping into a pool. The man is currently in intensive care with a traumatic brain injury, chest trauma, and a shoulder injury. It was feared that he would be paralyzed and never fully recover, according to Cadena Ser.

Authorities have been urging visitors to exercise caution, especially when crossing roads or using rental vehicles, and have increased patrols and safety measures to try to reduce these incidents. If you are planning a trip to Ibiza, it is advisable to follow these precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday.

The latest incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of safety awareness among tourists in Ibiza. Our thoughts are with the injured man and his family during this difficult time.

  1. In light of the recent road accident in Ibiza and the series of war-and-conflicts that have been reported in general-news, it's crucial for tourists to exercise extreme caution, especially while crossing roads or using rental vehicles.
  2. The incidents of crime-and-justice, such as the accused hit-and-run case and the spinal cord injury from a pool jump, have cast a dark shadow over Ibiza's tourist-friendly image.
  3. As the political landscape of Ibiza remains relatively calm, the focus continues to be on reducing accidents and fatalities among tourists, with authorities increasing patrols and safety measures to ensure a safer environment for visitors and locals alike.
