Renewi Tour 2025: A Balanced WorldTour Race Across the Netherlands and Belgium

The Renewi Tour 2025, scheduled from August 20 to 24, promises an exciting five-day WorldTour race covering a total distance of 911.3 kilometres across the Netherlands and Belgium.

The journey begins in the Netherlands with the first stage, a 182.6-kilometre route from Terneuzen to Breskens. This flat stage, situated in the Dutch province of Zeeland near the sea, is expected to favour sprinters.

The race then moves into Belgium for the remaining four stages, all road stages without a time trial. This departure from the previous three editions, which included one time trial stage, is a notable change.

The second stage, stretching 172.7 kilometres from Blankenberge to Ardooie, is similarly flat, favouring fast men, much like the first stage.

The third stage, a 181.8-kilometre route from Aalter to Geraardsbergen, presents a more challenging terrain. This stage features Tour of Flanders climbs like Taaienberg, Bosberg, and Muur van Geraardsbergen, with the finish halfway up the Muur on the Vesten cobbled climb.

The fourth stage, from Riemst to Bilzen, is hilly with several short climbs, and may end in a sprint finish. The specific route or details for this stage are not yet available.

The fifth and final stage, a circuit race in Leuven, incorporates the Tour of Leuven–Memorial Jef Scherens course with 27 short climbs. This stage replaces previous finale locations and is expected to provide a thrilling conclusion to the race.

Key changes compared to previous editions include the absence of a time trial stage in 2025, while prior editions included one. The overall finish in Geraardsbergen, a highlight last year, is now the pivotal third stage. The final stage in Leuven incorporates the course used for the 2021 World Championships.

This edition maintains a balance of flat stages for sprinters and challenging stages with significant climbs, especially in stages 3 and 5, making it appealing for both sprinters and classics specialists.

The Renewi Tour 2025 is the only WorldTour stage race in the Benelux region. It is a race not to be missed for cycling enthusiasts.

Sports enthusiasts looking forward to the Renewi Tour 2025 can expect an engaging blend of road cycling and sports, as the race offers a balance between flat stages for sprinters and challenging stages with significant climbs. The five-day WorldTour race, covering sports like road cycling across the Netherlands and Belgium, is a unique opportunity for both sprinters and classics specialists to showcase their skills.
