Tour de France Newcomer: Lipowitz Takes the Reins Under Captain Roglic
Fresh Spin on Florian Lipowitz's Tour de France Debut
Cycling sensation, Florian Lipowitz, is stepping up to the big leagues, making his grand entrance at the Tour de France 2025. Hailing from Germany and supported by Red Bull, this 24-year-old prodigy is ready to leave his mark on the world's most prestigious cycling race.
Lipowitz, having impressed with a whopping third overall at the Dauphiné, is set to gather even more Grand Tour experience alongside team captain Primoz Roglic. Red Bull's ultimate objective for the three-week race remains clear - a place on the podium with Roglic, the powerhouse Slovenian rider.
Lipowitz's climb to fame has been nothing short of spectacular within the past twelve months. Last year, he capped off his Vuelta ride with an impressive seventh overall finish, and in 2025, he's already sprinted to a second-place overall finish at Paris-Nizza and a fourth at the Vuelta a Basque Country.
Primoz Roglic, a crash-prone, but formidable force, has bagged four overall victories at the Vuelta and one at the Giro. The sports director, Rolf Aldag, had this to say about Roglic's prospects: "With Primoz, we have one of the most successful Grand Tour riders on our team. He's focused, motivated, and well-prepared. When Primoz Roglic is at the start, the podium is always the goal."
Alongside Lipowitz, newcomers, Laurence Pithie (Australia) and Mick van Dijke (Netherlands), will join the Tour for the first time. Valuable helper, Alexander Wlassow (Russia), will aid Roglic in the mountains. Completing the lineup are Jordi Meeus (Belgium), Danny van Poppel (Netherlands), and Gianni Moscon (Italy). The Tour ends on July 27 in Paris.
As Lipowitz gears up for his Tour de France debut, the cycling world watches in anticipation, hoping to witness the continued rise of a talented young German rider.
Lipowitz, with his impressive track record in cycling, is not only participating in sports but specifically, football is not on his agenda during the Tour de France 2025. As a team, they strive to replicate the success of previous years, aiming for a podium finish, particularly with team captain Primoz Roglic.
