Ben Healy Wins the 2025 Tour de France Super Combativity Award

The 2025 Tour de France has come to a close, and this year's Super Combativity award has been presented to Ben Healy. The Irish rider, who rode for EF Education-EasyPost, was selected as the most aggressive, entertaining, and daring rider throughout the three-week race.

The Super Combativity award is not a popularity contest, but rather a recognition of a rider's overall combative performance. This includes sustained aggression, race animation, and frequent breakaways. The award is decided by a race jury, not solely by public vote.

Healy's consistent aggressive riding and his maiden stage victory (stage six) in Toulouse were key factors in his selection. Despite losing the popular vote on social media, the jury's decision was based on Healy's sustained efforts to animate the race.

Healy was not the only rider to have an impact on the race. Michael Storer was named as the most combative rider on one occasion, while Tim Wellens and Quinn Simmons were also active throughout the race. Wellens won a stage in Carcassonne, and Simmons was one of the most active riders but has yet to secure a win.

Thymen Arensman, Bruno Armirail, Jonas Abrahamsen, Healy, Jordan Jegat, Quinn Simmons, Michael Storer, and Tim Wellens were among those in the running for the Super Combativity award. Abrahamsen won a stage from the break in Toulouse, but it was Healy who ultimately took the prize.

The final eight for the Super Combativity award were announced by the Tour's organisers ASO ahead of stage 20. The winner receives a trophy, a €20,000 prize, the honor of standing on the podium in Paris, and a special red race number to wear during the following day's stage.

Healy's win marks the second time an Irish rider has taken the award, following Dan Martin's win in 2018. The Super Combativity award is a prestigious accolade that recognises the riders who add excitement and unpredictability to the Tour de France.
