Tour dates for D4vd canceled following the grim discovery of a female corpse in Los Angeles
In a shocking turn of events, the body of a 15-year-old girl named Celeste Rivas Hernandez was discovered in the trunk of rapper D4vd's impounded Tesla. The investigation, classified as a 'Death Investigation,' is being handled by police authorities, who have yet to confirm any official murder suspicion. The case remains unclear, with the exact cause of death still undisclosed.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is a popular figure among Gen Z, known for his unique blend of indie rock, R&B, and lo-fi pop. He rose to fame on TikTok in 2022 with the hit 'Romantic Homicide.'
The investigation has cast a shadow over D4vd's professional life. The last two remaining dates in his US tour have been removed from ticketing websites, and his scheduled performance in San Francisco on Friday has been cancelled. The status of his upcoming European tour is also uncertain, with at least nine of the scheduled dates in Norway, Sweden, France, Poland, and other countries being cancelled on Ticketmaster. Some shows in Australia in December are still available for purchase.
Representatives for D4vd have not responded to requests for comment regarding the investigation or the status of his tours. An unnamed representative did, however, confirm that D4vd has been cooperating with authorities since the body was found.
The North American leg of D4vd's tour started in early August, and his first European stop was scheduled in Norway on Oct. 1. His debut full-length album, 'Withered,' was released in April. D4vd signed with Darkroom and Interscope in an unspecified year.
The Associated Press has reached out to both the venues and D4vd for comment on the status of the tour, but has yet to receive a response. The scheduled appearance at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles has also been removed from the venue's website.
As the investigation continues, fans and the music industry await updates on D4vd's career and the fate of his tours.
