Tough Wrestling Spectacle at TMU Stadium: Witness the Raw Strength at the Northern Wrestling Grand Event
In the heart of Northern Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati area, Beck Reeves has been labouring at a local warehouse, shipping off heart catheters. But outside of his day job, Reeves has embarked on an unexpected journey, joining the world of professional wrestling.
Reeves' wrestling career began in 2021 when he started training at BoneKrushers National Pro Wrestling Training Center. His first match took place on August 22, 2021, where he faced off against Dakota Wolf. Despite losing, Reeves did not let this setback deter him. Instead, he continued to train and hone his skills.
The BoneKrushers Training Center is a regional powerhouse, having launched the careers of several professional wrestlers. Notable alumni include Chris Lee, a well-known independent circuit wrestler in the Midwest, Mike Bernhard, a local wrestler and trainer, and various other local talents who have appeared in regional promotions like Greater Cincinnati Championship Wrestling (GCCW) and other Midwestern independent wrestling promotions.
The NWF, the independent wrestling promotion associated with BoneKrushers, was established in 1994 and is based in the same region. Roger Ruffen, the owner of the NWF since 1998, has been instrumental in nurturing the careers of many wrestlers, including "Wildcat" Chris Harris, Karl "The Machine Gun" Anderson, and "The Monster" Abyss.
Reeves, a Dixie Heights High School graduate, never played football or wrestled in high school. His love for wrestling began at the age of 13. When he saw a commercial for the Northern Wrestling Federation (NWF), he was inspired to start training with them.
Now, Reeves is set to be front and center at the Summer Sizzler on August 16 at Thomas More Stadium. The event promises an action-packed lineup, featuring a Ladder match, a Stretcher Death match, a WARGAMES steel cage match, and more. Fans can purchase tickets and find more information about the event at www.nwfwrestling.com/events.
For Reeves, wrestling is not just entertainment. It's a real sport, different from other sports like baseball, football, or UFC. He emphasizes that it is mentally challenging and physically demanding. Despite the grueling nature of the sport, Reeves remains passionate about it and is eager to continue his journey in the wrestling world.
Training sessions at the NWF cost approximately $30, which covers the $15 training cost. Reeves and other trainees at the NWF train 6-8 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, at BoneKrushers, which serves as both a student showcase and an event center.
As Reeves prepares for the Summer Sizzler, he encourages anyone with a passion for wrestling to consider joining the ranks at BoneKrushers. Whether you're a fan or a potential wrestler, the world of professional wrestling in Northern Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati area is waiting for you.
