In the upcoming preseason match, Son Heung-min and his fellow Tottenham Hotspur teammates will take on Newcastle United at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Son's native South Korea. The match, scheduled for 8 p.m., marks a significant pre-season encounter for both teams.

For Tottenham Hotspur, Kevin Danso, Cristian Romero, Pedro Porro, Ben Davies, and Yang Min-hyeok (who will begin on the bench) will form the defensive line. Antonin Kinsky will be between the posts, while Mathys Tel, Brennan Johnson, and Son Heung-min will lead the attack. Archie Gray, Pape Sarr, and Rodrigo Bentancur will be the midfielders.

On the other side, Newcastle United will field a strong team as well. Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Matt Targett, and Dan Burn will be their defenders, with Nick Pope in goal. Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes, and Lewis Miley will be the midfielders, and Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, and Jacob Murphy will be the forwards.

Son Heung-min, who announced his departure from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, will start the match for Spurs. However, it remains unclear if he will participate in the next two matches before the start of the new Premier League season on Aug. 15.

Following this preseason match, Tottenham Hotspur will face Bayern Munich in Germany on Thursday. This will be another challenging encounter for both teams as they prepare for the new season.

Meanwhile, Son Heung-min is expected to move to the MLS club Los Angeles FC (LAFC) in August, completing a permanent transfer announced in early August. The deal represents a record MLS transfer worth around $26 million, with Son signing a contract through 2027 and options extending to 2028.

During his ten-year career at Tottenham Hotspur, Son played 454 matches, scoring 173 goals. His final competitive match for Spurs was in May during their Europa League final victory. He announced his departure after his last friendly appearance for Tottenham in South Korea in early August.

At LAFC, Son will join a team competing strongly in MLS, aiming for their third MLS Cup in four years, and reunite with former Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris. The signing is seen as a major statement by LAFC, aiming to boost their global football profile and inspire fans locally and internationally.

This preseason match between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams fielding strong lineups. Fans can look forward to watching Son Heung-min in action one last time before he departs for the MLS.

Son Heung-min, who is parting ways with Tottenham Hotspur this summer, will showcase his football skills in the upcoming preseason match against Newcastle United. Following this clash, he is set to join European-leagues contender Los Angeles FC (LAFC) in the MLS, a move expected in August.
