The upcoming weekend in Germany is set to be another warm one, with temperatures predicted to reach around 34 degrees. However, the real heatwave is yet to come, as weather experts forecast temperatures up to 38 degrees in the coming days.

This intense heat is part of a larger heat dome that is covering much of Europe, causing a long-lasting heatwave with temperatures in the low 40s °C across southern, central, and partly western Europe, including parts of Germany.

The western parts of Germany and the upper Rhine area are expected to see some of the highest temperatures, reaching close to 39°C. Cities such as Frankfurt and Hannover, situated in central to northern Germany, are also expected to experience significant heat as the heatwave expands northward. Leipzig, in eastern Germany, will likely see rising temperatures as the heat dome broadens eastward.

The heatwave is expected to last into mid-August, with persistent exceptionally warm conditions. Given the extreme heat and ongoing drought conditions in parts of Europe, including Germany, caution is advised, especially concerning fire safety during outdoor activities.

Despite the high temperatures, the north of the country will be a bit cooler, but temperatures up to 30 degrees can still be expected. The heat storm is expected to gradually dissipate, allowing for more summer enjoyment before it cools down.

Heat warnings have been issued by the German weather service, urging people to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this period. Stay hydrated, seek shade when possible, and avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.

As the country braces for this intense heatwave, let's remember to take care of ourselves and each other, ensuring a safe and enjoyable summer for all.

During this heatwave, it's crucial to make the most of your free time indoors, as temperatures up to 39 degrees are forecasted for certain areas of Germany, particularly the western parts. With the heat dome affecting much of Europe, environmental-science enthusiasts might find this an interesting time to research and understand the impact of such weather phenomena on our planet.
