Weather Blast Across Thailand: A Stormy Update

Get prepped! Gear up for showers, thunder, and potential floods throughout upper Thailand, as per the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD). This warning comes as the southwest monsoon is in full swing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

Heed the danger! People living in the northern areas, including Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Uttaradit, and Phitsanulok, should stay alert for heavy rains and the risk of flash flooding and landslides, especially near hills, waterways, and low-lying areas. The TMD advises farmers to be on high alert to protect their crops.

Moreover, those in the northern areas need to watch out for moderate wind and waves, ranging from 1 to 2 meters, with higher waves in areas with thunderstorm activity. All vessels are advised to exercise caution and steer clear of these unsettled conditions.

On the plus side, Tropical Storm "WUTIP" has weakened into a tropical depression over Guangxi, China. Travellers are encouraged to check the weather before embarking on their journey.

Stay tuned! If you're in the northeast regions (Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, and Nakhon Phanom), the central regions (Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi), the east (Nakhon Nayok, Chanthaburi, and Trat), the south (Prachuap Khiri Khan, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat), or the west coast (Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, and Trang), anticipate scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy rains throughout the day. Bangkok and its surroundings will also experience scattered showers.

With this southwest monsoon, showers and thunderstorms are a common sight in the rest of Thailand, where temperatures can range from a cozy 26°C to a balmy 36°C (depending on the region).

In summary, the entire country can expect rainstorms and potential heavy rains as the fierce monsoon season is underway. But remember: Always keep an eye on the sky, and stay safe!
