Cole Payton, the six-foot-three, 233-pound quarterback, is set to make his mark in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as the Toronto Argonauts have added him to their exclusive negotiation list.

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Payton spent his collegiate career with the North Dakota State Bison, where he won two FCS National Championships in 2021 and 2024. During his time at North Dakota State, Payton completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 1,175 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions over 42 career games. He also rushed 178 times for 1,316 yards and 19 scores, showcasing his versatility as a dual-threat quarterback.

Payton's college career wasn't his first brush with professional football. Before joining the Argonauts, he played college football at Stephen F. Austin State University.

The game between the Argonauts and the Montreal Alouettes is scheduled for September 19 at BMO Field, with a kickoff at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
