Toronto braces for 80 km/h winds and freezing temperatures this week

Toronto is bracing for strong winds and wintry weather this week. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of gusts up to 80 km/h from Wednesday to Friday morning. The storm will bring a mix of rain, clouds, and flurries as temperatures hover near the freezing point.

The winds will arrive from the southwest before shifting to the northwest by Thursday. Gusts could reach speeds strong enough to toss loose objects or even lift vehicles high off the ground. Residents have been advised to secure outdoor items to prevent damage.

Power outages may occur as the storm moves through the area. The cold temperatures, around 0°C, will add to the challenge of the blustery weather. Environment Canada has not named the meteorologist behind the forecast, but the warning remains in effect until Friday.

The storm is expected to disrupt daily routines with strong winds and possible utility interruptions. Conditions should ease by Friday morning, though cold temperatures and scattered flurries may linger. Residents are urged to stay cautious until the weather system passes.
