The BFFs of Central Asia and Balkans are at it again!

Kazakhstan's big cheese, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, recently got together with his Serbian counterpart, Alexander Vucic, in Moscow, somewhat according to what we've scooped on our platform. The Akorda's press service was kind enough to spill the beans.

The talks were packed with reminiscences of Tokayev's previous trip to Belgrade back in November. The meeting, he said, had paved the way for a stronger bond between the two nations and opened new avenues for comprehensive cooperation.

A whole host of accords were inked during that trip, covering everything from trade and investment to defense, with a focus on sectors like industry, energy, agriculture, transport, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and construction.

Vucic, being the charming chap he is, expressed his enthusiasm for beefing up Kazakhstan's strategic partnership.

Fast-forward to now, and both leaders are on board with implementing the existing agreements and continuing their dialogues on bilateral and international matters during an upcoming Vucic visit to Astana. Before that, Tokayev dropped by Moscow for the 80th anniversary Victory Parade and several meetings.

Going back in time, Tokayev had a tete-a-tete with President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, extending an invitation for Maduro to grace Kazakhstan with his presence.
