The regatta, held on the stunning Lake Banyoles course, was praised by the WR Masters Commission for its organisation and the exceptional racing conditions. The first day of racing was delayed due to a thunderstorm, but the weather cleared up, allowing the competition to continue smoothly.
British rowers shone at the event, securing numerous gold medals. However, it was Sport Club Corinthians Paulista from Brazil who took the Overall standings, finishing ahead of Chinook Performance Racing from the USA and Region Grand Est from France. Marlow RC from the UK finished fourth in the Overall standings. Aberdeen BC, coached by John Smith, placed third in the Women's Club Trophy.

The event also featured a World Rowing dinner, 'An Evening with a Legend - Sir Matthew Pinsent,' adding a touch of glamour to the proceedings.
Catalonian entertainment, including drummers, dancers, and musicians, was a highlight of the regatta, showcasing the local culture and adding to the festive atmosphere. Sunday was dedicated to mixed racing, further emphasising the inclusivity of the event.
The camaraderie amongst competitors was fantastic to see, with athletes from different countries coming together to celebrate their shared love for rowing. The regatta concluded with a promise of returning to Banyoles for the 2026 World Rowing Masters Regatta, which will be held from 9-13 September 2026.
As the rowers departed, they left behind memories of a fantastic regatta and a promise to return for the next edition. The World Rowing Masters Regatta in Banyoles, Catalonia, was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of rowing, camaraderie, and the spirit of sport.
