"Top Executive in Toledo Speaks Out against Poor Working Conditions in Casty's Talavera Branch, Plans Strike for Next Week"

In a historic move, the trade union CCOO has called a strike at the ice cream company Casty in Toledo, marking the first time in its 40-year history that such action has been taken. The strike is in response to "miserable conditions" at the company, which are said to be the most precarious legally maintainable in the country.

According to the union, Casty workers are exposed to harsh working conditions, including temperatures between -20 and -40 degrees, with insufficient protection measures. The staff at Casty has not received any compensation for these harsh conditions for over 40 years, according to CCOO.

The workers' activity at Casty involves repetitive and harmful movements, and the union alleges that the company keeps its workers in absolute precariousness. Javier García, the secretary of Action and Collective Negotiation of CCOO Toledo, denounced that Casty workers are not only earning the minimum wage but also losing the old seniority bonus they had in the previous agreement.

García further alleged that there is not a single worker in Spain who earns less than those at Casty. The secretary general of CCOO Toledo, Federico Pérez, made a denouncement in Talavera de la Reina, accusing the Casty company of contributing to making Talavera and its region one of the most impoverished regions due to abusive business practices.

The union has also claimed that the Castillejo family, owners of the company Casty, have billed more than 30 million euros in the last months. CCOO is demanding a decent collective agreement to regularize misery and labor precariousness. The agreement would oblige workers to work on weekends and holidays for "ridiculous amounts," according to the union.

The employees are voting against the agreement because it is considered "miserable." The strike is due to the demand for a fair collective agreement. CCOO has made an appeal to the citizens of Talavera to join their demands to "end this injustice" suffered by the staff of Casty.

At the time of writing, no official statement has been made by the Casty ice cream company regarding the strike or the union's allegations. For updated information on this ongoing labor dispute, it is recommended to follow local Toledo news websites, labor union announcements, social media posts from employees or union representatives involved, and official statements from Casty ice cream company or labor boards in Toledo.

Casty's history has been marked by political controversy, as its workers demand a change in the general-news headlines for over four decades. The union's call for a strike highlights the prolonged issues of precarious working conditions, low wages, and poor compensation for harsh environments at Casty, issues that have partially shaped Spain's political and economic landscape.
