Today, as we celebrate St. Cecilia's Day, renowned presenter Howard Goodall has announced an exciting update to his two-hour program. The program, which typically showcases scores from movies about music, will now include the Sundance festival hit, "Whiplash."

"Whiplash," a movie about a promising young drummer at a cutthroat music conservatory, is due for release in the UK next year. The story revolves around a mentor who will go to great lengths to realize a student's potential.

The addition of "Whiplash" to the program does not alter its duration, as the program remains two hours long. The movie, while not specified as part of the scores from movies, will be included in the program's music.

The program has always been a celebration of St. Cecilia, the Patron Saint of musicians. This year, it will feature a total of 6 movies about music, including "Mr. Holland's Opus," "Amadeus," "The Piano," "The Pianist," and the newly added "Whiplash."

"Whiplash" is not one of the movies previously mentioned in the program, but its inclusion adds a recent and potentially contemporary element to the music selection. The director of the film, "Whiplash," is Damien Chazelle.

Tune in to Howard Goodall's special St. Cecilia's Day program to experience the blend of timeless and modern music, as we celebrate the Patron Saint of musicians.
