Two-Sport Star Tyler Fryman Commits to Louisville, Holds Football Offer from Notre Dame

Tyler Fryman, a multi-talented athlete from Beechwood, has made a verbal commitment to the University of Louisville baseball team while also holding a football scholarship offer from Notre Dame. This dual interest across sports highlights Fryman's versatility and high-level talent.

Fryman's recruitment details emphasize his dynamic athleticism and work ethic, with Louisville pursuing him for baseball and Notre Dame showing interest in football. In baseball, Fryman led the Ninth Region finalist Beechwood team with a .436 batting average and recorded 34 steals in 36 attempts. In the 2020 football season, he played six games for the state champion Tigers, recording 17 catches for 299 yards and four TD, with 70 yards rushing and another TD, and 26 tackles on defense. During the football camp, he ran a 4.51 time in the 40-yard dash and was noted for his ability to evade defenders.

In addition to his commitments, Fryman has also received scholarship offers from Miami of Ohio and Toledo for football, and he has a football offer from Notre Dame. He has stated that he is young, enjoys playing both sports, and is committed to playing both baseball and football.

Meanwhile, Taylen Kinney, a five-star prospect in the 2026 class, has visited the University of Louisville for a scholarship offer. Kinney has been on Louisville's basketball radar since eighth grade. He has participated in the Adidas EuroCamp in Treviso, Italy, and the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp in South Carolina. According to 247 Sports, Kinney is a "scoring lead guard and true three-point range threat" with a creative handle.

Kinney's impressive performances at these camps have earned him recognition, including an average of 22 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp, ranking him third in scoring and second in assists. He has also taken an official visit to Purdue and has visits planned for Texas, Arkansas, and Oregon.

Kinney has signed an NIL deal with Adidas, one of only 12 such deals in the nation. However, his Adidas deal will not play a role in his college choice. Kinney is also scheduled for a tryout for the USA Basketball Under-19 Camp this week.

Offensive coordinator Brian Brohm invited Fryman to the football camp, where Fryman impressed enough to receive a second scholarship offer from the Louisville football coaches. Despite his commitments, Fryman remains eligible for both sports and continues to excel in both baseball and football.

  1. Despite Fryman's commitment to the University of Louisville baseball team, Notre Dame remains interested in his football skills, offering him a scholarship.
  2. Fryman's talent extends beyond one sport, as he led Beechwood's baseball team in batting average and was a standout on the football field during the 2020 season.
  3. Similarly to Fryman, five-star prospect Taylen Kinney has been on Louisville's basketball radar since the eighth grade, showcasing his skills at prestigious camps like the Adidas EuroCamp and NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp.
