Tomsk, Apr 27 - RIA Tomsk. Tomsk region authorities plan to renovate housing for over 100 World War II veterans by 2025, with over 7.6 million rubles allocated from the budget, revealed a spokesperson for the regional administration to RIA Tomsk.
Previously reported, as of the end of April 2025, there are 23 disabled and war veterans, 27 Leningrad blockade survivors, 1,106 war industry workers, 33 former child inmates of Nazi concentration camps, and 432 widows of fallen and deceased war participants residing in Tomsk region. They all receive comprehensive government aid tailored to their specific needs.
"For 2024, aid for housing repair and renovation received 128 veterans for a total of 8.8 million rubles in combined regional and municipal budget funds. For 2025, over 7.6 million rubles have been allocated, and more than 100 veterans will receive aid," stated the spokesperson.
She emphasized that veterans also receive medical assistance and heating system upgrades. Funds from the "Victory" charitable account are used to provide additional medical assistance: expensive medications and medical equipment are purchased, and graves of veterans are restored.
"In 2024, using charitable funds, aid was given to 25 Tomsk residents for nearly 800,000 rubles, and already in 2025, aid has been received by four individuals for nearly 300,000 rubles," added the representative of the regional administration.
