Tomorrow heralds the blues event
BluesBlast Eutin Kicks Off: May 22 - 25
Get ready, blues enthusiasts! The BluesBlast Eutin festival is back and bigger than ever, taking over the Eutin market square from May 22 to May 25. And the best part? It's still free entry, but donations are warmly welcomed.
Financial constraints have forced the organizers to cut costs for the second year in a row, says Barbara Bloch, chairperson of the Baltic Blues e.V. association. Despite the belt-tightening, they've managed to assemble an impressive, internationally acclaimed program that lives up to the festival's high standards. This year's theme? "Our Blues is still magic."
Here's what you can expect: a diverse range of modern blues and blues-inspired genres, including Neo Soul, Deltablues, Funk, Americana, Chicago blues, Roots, Swingin' Blues, Country blues, Jump, Gospel, Contemporary Blues, Folk blues, Shuffle, R'n'B, and Bluesrock. The lineup boasts artists from Canada, the USA, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, Austria, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Denmark, and Germany. Alongside North American bands, up-and-coming European acts will showcase a contemporary take on blues, emphasizing modern sounds and forms.
Following the main festival program, "Nightsessions" will take place at the Brauhaus, with two concerts each night on Friday and Saturday. Germanyfunk radio station from Cologne will be recording and broadcasting numerous concerts. In fact, nine acts are winners of national selections for the European Blues Challenge and/or international award recipients, demonstrating the festival's extraordinary quality. For those who can't attend in person, all concerts will be streamed live on www.rockradio.de.
