Tommy Fleetwood Shines as Scottie Scheffler Struggles in Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup is underway, and while Scottie Scheffler, the current World No.1, has had a slow start, Tommy Fleetwood has been a standout performer for Team Europe.

Scheffler, who has won 30% of the tournaments he's played this year, including two Major Championships, has not lived up to his ranking so far in the competition. Meanwhile, Tommy Fleetwood has been in exceptional form. He won the FedEx Cup at the end of August and has carried that momentum into the Ryder Cup, winning three consecutive matches and topping the Data Golf Strokes Gained metrics with +5.26 after the first three sessions.

Fleetwood, paired with Rory McIlroy, maintained their perfect Ryder Cup record together in day two of the foursomes. Although he hasn't won any major tournaments leading up to the Ryder Cup, Tommy Fleetwood's consistent performance, including a silver medal at the Olympic golf tournament in Paris behind Scottie Scheffler, has solidified his status as a European Ryder Cup great in the making.

While Scottie Scheffler's performance at the Ryder Cup has been below expectations, Tommy Fleetwood's exceptional play has been a highlight for Team Europe. With his current form and consistent results, Fleetwood is well on his way to securing his legacy as a European Ryder Cup great.
