Toddler rescued after being accidentally locked in Florida car
A toddler was safely rescued after being accidentally locked inside a car at River City Marketplace in Jacksonville, Florida. Deputies responded quickly to the scene and freed the child within minutes.
The incident began when the toddler unbuckled himself from his car seat and moved around the vehicle. The keys remained inside, leaving him trapped. Concerned bystanders alerted the authorities, prompting a rapid response.
Deputies arrived and assessed the situation. Using specialised tools, they unlocked the car door and opened the vehicle without causing damage. The entire rescue took less than 10 minutes, and the child was returned to his mother unharmed. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office later issued a reminder about the dangers of leaving children unattended in cars. Even with windows slightly open, temperatures inside a vehicle can climb rapidly as the weather warms up.
No injuries were reported, and the child was unharmed. Authorities have not recorded any similar incidents in Florida so far this year. The sheriff's office continues to urge parents and caregivers to remain vigilant about vehicle safety.
