What's the yellow word in today's challenge?
The yellow group is considered the simplest. The yellow category theme is "Find on Sheet Music," and the words are CLEF, NOTE, REST, STAFF.
What's the green word in today's challenge?
The green group, second in difficulty, features the Zodiac symbols. The words are Bull, Crab, Balance, and Twins.
What's the blue word in today's challenge?
Here's where the puzzle gets tricky: The blue category focuses on record labels. The words are CAPITOL, RCA, SONY, WARNER.
What's the purple word in today's challenge?
The violet zone is by far the hardest to crack. The theme is "ZODIAC STARTS," and the words are LIBRA, CANCER, TAURUS, LEO.
How we solved today's Connections
After scribbling down some sheet music notes, pauses, music keys, and references to the zodiac, I realized I had a headache. What did TAU mean other than the Greek alphabet or amyloid buildup?
As I stared at various astrological symbols, I thought GEM might refer to the first part of "Twins," since "Gemini" is one of the zodiac signs. But nope, CAN was the answer.
Now we had CAN, GEM, TAU, and LIB. Literally translating their first letters, we got "cancer," "gemini," "taurus," and "leo." Animal symbols in order were Crab, Twins, Bull, and Lion.
That left us with CAPITOL, RCA, SONY, and WARNER, which we figured were major record labels.

Tips and Strategies to Solve the December 6, 2023, Challenges
Are you finding the puzzle tough? Don't fret! We've uncovered a series of suggestions and strategies to help you succeed at the December 6 Challenge.
1. Keep It Simple
Remember that the ultimate goal is to form connections between words. While each category may seem silly or hard to understand, ultimately, you're trying to create an association between the words within the category.
2. Analyze the Category Names
Try analyzing each category name to get a better sense of its underlying concept. This will help get your creative juices flowing and set you on the right track. Start by deciphering the words in the category name itself – looking at the words in each category will help you see the bigger picture.
3. Utilize Word Association
Lean into your natural instinct to make word connections. Every word you encounter reminds you of something else you know, so don't be afraid to start drawing connections. Familiarity can be a powerful tool in the world of Connect4!
4. Think in Sequences
If you're feeling stuck, start focusing on creating sequences of related words. Instead of trying to jump right to the conclusion, build step by step. You might recognize patterns in the order that will help you form the necessary connections.
5. Look for Repeated or Synonymous Words
In some categories, you may find words that have similar meanings or duplicates. If you come across any repeated words or synonyms amid the list, pay attention – they may suggest an underlying archetype or theme that can lead you to the correct answer.
What Strategy Led Me to the Solutions
If you're curious about the process I used to tackle the December 6 Connect game, you can relax and read on.
The Yellow Category* (Yellow Flowers) - My initial approach was to start by building sequences based on the category's name. I tried to identify logical combinations between the flowers, thinking about their genetic relationships and related visual characteristics. After a series of thoughtful analysis, I was able to create a sequence of floral developments that led me to the final answer: CONVOLVULUS, ARUM, LILY, VIOLET.
The Green Category (Five Elements) - In this category, I took a more holistic approach, searching for connections based on the category's name itself. By recognizing the underlying archetypes behind each element, I was able to create a series of logical links. For instance, water is associated with life, and earth supports the existence of that water, while fire fuels the life process. The result: FIRE, WATER, EARTH, AIR, METAL.
The Blue Category (Mystic Planets) - In this category, I relied heavily on my knowledge of astronomy and astrology. Since the theme centers around the outer planets, I focused on the unique characteristics that distinguish them in the solar system. I began by thinking about their orbits and the ways in which they exert different influences on Earth and beyond. By connecting the celestial influences of each planet, I managed to unlock the solution: MERCURY, VENUS, MARS, JUPITER, SATURN.
The Purple Category (Zodiac Signs) - In this category, I drew on my understanding of Western astrology, traditional storytelling, and symbolic associations that connect each sign to its corresponding animal. By exploring these connections, I was able to identify subtle patterns and build a series of logical links. This led me to the final answer: CANCER, LEO, TAURUS, GEMINI.
