The Multiple Meaning Words in Today's Connections

Broadway can refer to a music theater style or the famous New York City strip with numerous theaters. "First, Second," and "Eleventh" are all ordinals, but they don't fit into the same category, and none of their categories has a number theme. Ponder additional possibilities for these words, such as the first chair in an orchestra or the second hand of a clock. Today, "Main" is no longer just a street, but "Madison Avenue" is already it.

Today's Connections Category Breakdown

  • Yellow: Repetition Rhythm
  • Flash, Jiffy, Second, Wink
  • Green: Principal Concept
  • Chief, Main, Principal, Madison
  • Blue: Streets of New York City
  • Broadway, Fifth, Madison, Park
  • Purple: Time-Related
  • Amateur, Eleventh, Happy, Rush

My Thought Process for Solving Today's Connections

The street names confused me – I should know what's on 5th Street, 11th Street, and so forth. So, I began searching for other uses for these words. SECOND is a short time frame, such as a blink or two blinks. Then, I realized that ELEVENTH could refer to the eleventh hour, as well as RUSH hour, HAPPY hour, and AMATEUR hour.

First, there's CHIEF and MAIN, then the actual streets: MADISON, PARK, FIFTH, and BROADWAY. Sorry, "Path."
