Magdeburg's Musical Spectacle
Gear up for a mesmerizing musical experience this Monday, June 9th, at 4 PM, as Daniel Schmahl and Karolina Juodelyte take center stage at the Magdeburg Cathedral. Their program, "True Colors", promises a vibrant symphony of sounds, backed by a captivating drive.
The performance will feature "The Road to Silence", a composition by Lithuanian maestro Onutė Narbutaitė. Known for her globally-acclaimed works, she was awarded the Lithuanian National Prize for Art and Culture in 1997. This will be the first time her work is premiered in the Mageburg Cathedral.
Pavel Vejvanowskis' compositions wear a unique suit, blending elements of late Viennese and Venetian baroque music. His dynamic melodies and groundbreaking instrumentation make for an exciting segment of the concert.
Oskar Lindberg's music is renowned for its unmistakable colorfulness, seamlessly combining impressionistic elements with late romanticism. With a career marked by operas, symphonies, requiems, and diverse tone poems, he promises to add a touch of magic to the event.

Who's Behind the Trumpet and Keys?
Daniel Schmahl: Hailing from a musical family, Schmahl was first sparked by his father, violinist Gustav Schmahl. Dabbling in various instruments such as the violin, bassoon, piano, and voice at a young age, he eventually found his true love with the trumpet. After studying in Berlin and Weimar, he made his solo debut with the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and since then, has graced the concert halls of esteemed orchestras worldwide. Schmahl's musical journey never ceases to be innovative, as he seeks unusual interpretations and forges new paths in early music, early modernism, and jazz.
Karolina Juodelyte: Born in 1990 in Lithuania, Juodelyte is a versatile organist and musicologist, having studied in Vilnius, Vienna, Helsinki, and Detmold. She has performs with prestigious orchestras such as the Dresden Philharmonic and Konzerthausorchester Berlin, and her accomplishments include winning the International Ciurlionis Competition in Vilnius and the third prize at the International L. Janacek Competition in Brno. A consummate scholar, Juodelyte has taught at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater and has served as organist and choir director at various churches.
