Daniel Sprong, the Dutch professional hockey player, is on the brink of a return to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), with reports suggesting that he could be joining CSKA Moscow. The 25-year-old forward, who is currently represented by the agency of Alexei Pilko, has been attracting interest from several KHL clubs, including CSKA Moscow, St. Petersburg's SKA, and Beijing's "Kunlun".

Sprong's potential move to Moscow comes after his departure from Avangard Omsk, although it's important to note that Avangard is based in Omsk, not Moscow. The Russian sports outlet Sport-Express, via Mikhail Zislis and the Telegram channel of Samir Arar, have reported that CSKA Moscow is the Moscow club showing the most interest in Sprong.

Sprong, who is of Dutch nationality, has previous experience in the KHL, having been associated with the league in the past. However, it's still uncertain which KHL club he will ultimately play for, as his decision does not favour Beijing "Kunlun".

The KHL clubs that Sprong is being considered by are well-known entities. CSKA, known for using the CSKA Arena, and SKA, which uses the SKA Arena in St. Petersburg, are both prestigious clubs in the league.

As the details of Sprong's move to Russia unfold, one thing is clear: the Dutch hockey player is set to continue his professional career in the KHL. His potential destination, Moscow, promises a new chapter in his career, as he looks to make an impact on the Russian ice hockey scene.

Sprong's anticipated KHL return may involve him joining CSKA Moscow, as the same outlet that reported his departure from Avangard Omsk now suggests CSKA Moscow is the most interested club in him. Regardless, Sprong's continued association with the KHL is evident, potentially signaling a fresh hockey chapter in the Russian sports scene.
