Titleist Reintroduces Popular Double Major-Winning Golf Ball to Market
The golfing world is abuzz with excitement as Titleist prepares to bring back two of its most popular Tour-only golf balls, the Pro V1x Double Dot and Pro V1x Left Dash, to the retail market.
The Pro V1x Left Dash, with its distinctive left dash marking, has been a favourite among professional golfers for years. Bryson DeChambeau made headlines in 2024 when he used this ball to win the US Open, reporting that it flies around 20-30 feet lower than his previous ball, the Pro V1x, and provides less spin.
The Pro V1 Left Dot, another popular choice, is tailored for golfers with high swing speeds. Notable players like Henrik Stenson and Patrick Reed have used this ball in major tournaments such as The 2016 Open Championship and the 2018 Masters.
Both the Pro V1 Left Dot and Pro V1x Left Dash golf balls are known for their soft feel and spin control around the green. The Pro V1 Left Dot, in particular, is designed for a lower and more penetrating flight with lower long game spin compared to the Pro V1.
Titleist's use of a high gradient core construction in these balls, a technology also found in the Pro V1 and Pro V1x, contributes to their consistent performance.
After its initial release, the Pro V1 Left Dot ball sold out rapidly. It will be available for purchase at $55 a dozen, with a limit of two dozen per customer. Listings of the Pro V1 Left Dot ball have appeared on websites like eBay, with individual golf balls being sold at $25 and a dozen selling for anywhere from $200 to $370.
The full details of the Pro V1x Double Dot golf ball are yet to be revealed, but it is expected to hit the shelves alongside the Pro V1x Left Dash starting September 23rd. Since its introduction as a Tour-only model, the Pro V1 Left Dot ball has racked up 30 PGA Tour titles and two Majors.
In 2025, players using the new Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash include Viktor Hovland, the 2023 FedEx Cup champion, and Bryson DeChambeau, who won the 2024 US Open with this ball. The Pro V1x Double Dot was also introduced in 2025, but specific players using it this season are not yet listed.
The Pro V1, Pro V1x, and Pro V1x Left Dash golf balls are still being retailed by Titleist. These balls have proven to be reliable choices for golfers seeking optimal performance on the course. With the return of the Pro V1x Double Dot and Pro V1x Left Dash to the retail market, golfers in the US and Canada will have more options to enhance their game.
