In the gritty, crime-filled world of D 2021, Carola Blum stands before a health counseling practice, heart pounding. She bells the joint, no answers echo back. Peering through a window, she witnesses a grim sight - Marion Fiedler, her friend, lies lifeless on the floor. In a frenzy, Carola shatters the glass, but it's too late.
The victim, who ran the practice with her husband Elmar, was associated with controversial methods, having opened the practice in response to the heartbreaking death of their five-year-old son, believed to be the result of a vaccination. Elmar and Marion had once sued the pediatrician Dr. Daniela Lorenz, but she was acquitted, though her career never truly recovered.
Carola's own child, a young girl, had been under the Fiedlers' care, and she contracted measles. The youngster's condition worsens day by day, causing Patrick, her distraught partner, to become increasingly despondent. In his mind, the Fiedlers are to blame for his daughter's suffering.
Could Patrick, pushed to his limits, have taken drastic action? Or was Dr. Lorenz, seeking revenge on the Fiedlers, behind the tragedy? And who was the mysterious figure fleeing the scene?
With a runtime of 60 minutes, "Carola Blum" is a gripping crime series directed by Philipp Eichholtz. Luna Kunath portrays Caroline Erikson, while Tamara Meurer brings Anja Pahl to life.
