Title: Overview of Cast and Plot Details along with Known Information

In the tranquil town of Wakestead, the discovery of the body of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen sends shockwaves through the community. This chilling event forms the basis of ITV's upcoming six-part crime thriller series, The Blame, set to premiere in 2026.

Starring Michelle Keegan as DI Emma Crane and Douglas Booth as DI Tom Radley, the drama promises to delve into the dark underbelly of a seemingly peaceful town. What initially appears to be a tragic incident unravels into a complex web of lies, institutional cover-ups, police corruption, exploitation, and moral compromises.

The Blame is adapted from the 2023 novel by Charlotte Langley and promises unexpected twists and complex characters. The series, scheduled to begin filming in summer 2025, also tackles systemic corruption, police corruption, exploitation, and misogyny.

The cast includes Matilda Freeman as Sophie Madsen, Ceallach Spellman as PC Callum Drummond, Ian Hart as DCI Kenneth Walker, Gavin Spokes as DC Joel Stevens, Josh Bolt as DC Douglas James, and Joe Armstrong as ice-skating coach Kyle Frasier. Nathan Mensah plays DC Lewis in the series.

Megan Gallagher is responsible for adapting the novel for the screen, promising a gripping and suspenseful narrative that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. As filming has not yet begun, no trailer for the series is available yet.

As DI Crane navigates the complex investigation, she must also contend with the treacherous internal politics and fractured trust within her own team. The series promises to be a compelling exploration of secrets, suspicion, and the lengths people will go to protect their own.
