Tiny Vinyl, a fresh American enterprise, debuts miniature vinyl records
Tiny Vinyl Launches Limited-Edition 4-inch Singles Featuring Top Artists
A US-based start-up, Tiny Vinyl, is shaking up the music industry with its new line of collectible 4-inch vinyl singles. These miniature records, which play at 33 RPM on standard turntables, are signed to major labels such as Sony and Warner Music, and feature artists like Bruno Mars, Black Sabbath, and more.
Black Sabbath's track “Paranoid” will be available on Tiny Vinyl, while Bruno Mars's specific tracks have yet to be disclosed. Unfortunately, there is no direct confirmation about four-inch vinyl releases from Britney Spears or Doja Cat, both Sony artists.
These limited-edition singles, with authentic jackets and cover art, are priced around $14.99 each and are available for pre-order primarily via retailers like Target. The artists included in the Tiny Vinyl series also include Gracie Adams, Doechii, the Rolling Stones, Motley Crue, and Lola Young.
Tiny Vinyl has partnered with US retailer Target for these releases, and the singles are available for purchase on their website. The four-inch singles are more environmentally friendly than traditional 12-inch vinyl albums, using only 15g of material per single compared to 140g for a 12-inch album.
In the Spotify era, where it's rare for any track to last over three minutes thirty, these four-inch singles are an interesting throwback to a time when songs were shorter and singles were the primary format for music consumption.
