Tinubu Plans to Attend Son's Wedding, Pays a Visit to Aisha Buhari in Kaduna
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has made a strong statement against the manner in which President Bola Tinubu suspended and subsequently reinstated the elected Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara. In a statement signed by Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's National Publicity Secretary, the ADC described President Tinubu's action as "whimsically autocratic."
The ADC asserted that the President's suspension of the Rivers Governor was self-serving and remains unconstitutional. The party is dismayed by President Tinubu's attempt to disguise political brinkmanship as statesmanship.
On a different note, President Tinubu will attend a wedding in Kaduna State on Friday. The wedding is between Nasirudeen Yari and Safiyya Shehu Idris. After the events in Kaduna, President Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja on the same day.
Before his presidency, Bola Tinubu was a Nigerian politician and former governor of Lagos State. In his political career, he has faced various criticisms and praises alike.
The ADC, however, did not comment on the popularity of Siminalayi Fubara or the status of Rivers State resources. Neither did they express any opinion on the governorship talks involving Osinbajo, Aregbesola, or Obanikoro. They also did not engage in discussions regarding Seyi Tinubu's governorship talks.
The ADC did not express any business with the group that rallied behind Atiku Abubakar in 2027. They also did not comment on the composition of President Tinubu's first cabinet in 1999.
Before concluding his day, President Tinubu will pay his respects at the residence of Aisha Buhari, the widow of the late leader. The ADC believes that President Tinubu's action in Rivers State will define his political legacy.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, the ADC's stance serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding constitutional values and maintaining the integrity of democratic processes.
