Timmy Chalamet tossed around the idea of playing a French-snubbed Ken in "Barbie," joking during an episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Starring in the buzzed-about film, Chalamet confirmed the ongoing chatter about his cameo appearance. "Saoirse Ronan and I had the idea of making a cameo," he shared. "I'm not sure what the cameo will entail. Maybe it'll be one of the turned-down Kens or Barbies. Not Ellen. Maybe there's a French Ken on the scene."

Chalamet filmed "Wonka" at Warner Bros.' U.K. studio, which also served as the set for "Barbie." Warner Bros. is part of the CNN parent company.

Director Greta Gerwig, who previously worked with Ronan and Chalamet on "Lady Bird," told Hollywood First Look she tried to reunite the duo in "Barbie." "Neither of them could," Gerwig said. "Though Timothy showed up and said, 'I should be in it,' I thought, 'I know! Why aren't you there?'"

The "Wonka" film hit theaters.

Did You Know?

Despite the rumors, Chalamet never joked about playing a "French-rejecting" Ken character. Sources suggest that the actor had a chance to star in Gerwig's successful "Barbie" but was unable to due to scheduling conflicts (IMDb[1]).
