KSC Welcomes New Sports Development Chief, Marc Pauls!
In an exciting turn of events,KSC Siegen has announced the appointment of a dynamic new addition to their team,Marc Pauls,who will take up the position of Sports Development Director starting from June 15, 2025. This new role will see Pauls driving squad development and optimizing sports processes and structures within the club.
Potential New Signings Awaited
The immediate change could be linked to delays in acquiring new players,as stated in previous releases about Pauls' responsibilities at Berlin Hertha. He played a key role in player acquisitions and could significantly impact the composition of KSC's squad for the upcoming season,which presents various challenges that need addressing.
Replacing Michael Bischof
Pauls won't be occupying the traditional Sports Director role but will take over the areas previously helmed by Michael Bischof, who is departing to join league rivals 1. FC Nuremberg as their Technical Director. Bischof's responsibilities at KSC included area leadership development, scouting, and analysis.
Closer Collaboration with Mario Eggimann
Pauls will not function as the decision-maker but will work closely with the Sports Director, Mario Eggimann, providing support, making preliminary decisions, and assuming squad planning responsibilities.
Leaving a Long-term Commitment Behind
With a contract with Hertha running until 2027, Pauls opted for a fresh start at KSC after requesting a termination of his contract. Despite Hertha's offers of an early contract extension and a promotion to Technical Director, Pauls preferred KSC and will now serve a three-year contract.
Rich Experience in Football Management
Although still relatively young, Pauls boasts extensive experience in the football sector. He gained his ground working as a youth coach for 1860 Munich and the Bavarian Football Association, along with serving as a scout for both the lions and FC Bayern Munich. Pauls even held the position of chief scout in Bayern's youth department from December 2015 to April 2019.
Subsequently, he assumed important roles as chief scout and squad planner with FC Augsburg before moving to Hertha BSC in November 2023. His new journey with KSC will no doubt bring with it a vibrant mix of skills and insights, ready to steer the club towards new heights.
