Timon Krause Showcases Heirloom Painting at "Bares für Rares"
Timon Krause, a renowned mentalist, recently made an appearance at the "Bares für Rares" summer edition, where he showcased a family heirloom painting. The painting, created by his great-great-great-uncle Heinrich Hellhoff, was a centerpiece of the event themed "Hidden Messages."
The summery, extended edition of "Bares für Rares" took place on August 13th at Gut Nettehammer near Andernach. Krause, who has previously garnered attention for his performances on the show and various podcasts, demonstrated his skills to host Horst Lichter (63) during the event.
Art expert Colmar Schulte-Goltz (52) was also involved in the show. He provided an estimate for the painting, suggesting it could be valued between 1,000 to 1,500 euros. Schulte-Goltz also recommended that the painting be cleaned, and its paint layers removed and canvas re-stretched.
Krause, along with his colleagues, performed mental magic using body language, facial expressions, and manipulation. One of his tricks, a small demonstration, was bid on by Trader Fabian Kahl for 1,200 euros. Krause expressed his happiness with the bid and the overall experience.
In addition to the painting and Krause's trick, the traders' room was described as being "really nice" by Krause. It was also noted that an additional 10 euros were added to the bid for Julian Schmitz-Avila's trick.
The money from the bids will go to a good cause. While there is no specific mention of a painting by Heinrich Hellhoff or his studio, it is likely that the landscape painting was created in Hellhoff's Berlin studio.
Krause, who has been known to promise that he would not resort to influence or manipulation during his performances, made Horst Lichter feel an object in a box that was later revealed to be a soup ladle, not a small teaspoon.
