In this new role, the 44-year-old Boll willitudes his "star power" to support the DTTB's future European or World Championship bids, and more. Dörner expressed excitement, stating, "Timo Boll is and remains the face of German table tennis." With Boll as the representative, he believes table tennis will make a stronger impact among the public.

Boll embraces this new responsibility, stating, "I wouldn't have wanted to suddenly stop playing table tennis anyway. I'm happy to be an ambassador and advisor." He is eager to continue using his popularity to benefit the sport. "I'm open to anything."

This coming Sunday marks the conclusion of Boll's nearly 30-year career in a farewell match at the Bundesliga playoff final between Borussia Düsseldorf and TTF Ochsenhausen. This match promises to be a fierce competition, with Düsseldorf's team not only relying on Boll but also on Swedish player Anton Källberg and German national player Dang Qiu. Despite being the defending champions for four consecutive years, the favorites are the Swabian club from Ochsenhausen boasting Brazilian vice-world champion Hugo Calderano, Japanese double world champion Shunsuke Togami, and French top player Simon Gauzy.
