Speed Controls Planned Across South East Hesse for Safety Enhancement

Speed controls are set to take place across various locations in South East Hesse from Monday, January 27 to Friday, January 31. The primary focus of these controls is to ensure the safety of children in road traffic and address accident hotspots.

On Monday, January 27, speed measurements will be conducted on the B 486 between Urberach and Langen at the E-Werk access road, and on Tempelhofer Straße in Obertshausen near the Waldspielplatz, which is a school route.

The following day, Tuesday, January 28, measurements are planned on the B 45 towards Hanau at the height of the Pfingstweide parking lot, a known speed danger zone.

Over the weekend, February 1 and 2, speed danger zones will be monitored on the B 43a, Hanau towards Dieburg between Wolfgang and HU-Hafen junctions.

Thursday, January 30, will see speed danger zones on B 43a, Hanau towards Dieburg between Wolfgang and Hanau-Hafen junctions, and an accident hotspot on B 45, Dieburg towards Hanau in the area of the on- and off-ramps of the A 3, Hanau junction.

Further controls will take place on January 29 between the Wolfgang and Hanau-Hafen junctions on the B 43a, and on the Maintal towards Frankfurt (B 8/B 40) route. The B 43a between Wolfgang and Hanau-Hafen will be under particular scrutiny over the weekend.

On Friday, January 31, speed monitoring will focus particularly on the Goerdeler Straße in Offenbach and the Pfaffenbrunnenstraße in Hanau, both of which are kindergarten zones.

The South East Hesse Police Headquarters have announced that all speed controls for this week will take place at various locations, including wildlife crossings, hazardous traffic sections, and areas near kindergartens and schools. The goal is to increase the safety of children in road traffic on Friday, January 31.

It is advisable to check official communications from the South East Hesse Police Headquarters for the specific speed control points and targeted areas during this period. Such communications may include their official website, press releases, or local government traffic advisories.

Other general-news updates indicate that speed controls, in addition to the aforementioned locations, will also be implemented at wildlife crossings and hazardous traffic sections across South East Hesse this week, with a focus on improving weather-related road safety. In particular, weather reports predict frosty conditions, which could potentially increase the risk of accidents due to reduced visibility and icy roads.
