Timeline of Daniel Aruebose: Key Facts from Early Family Life to Current Status

In a shocking development, Gardai are attempting to verify if the remains found in Donabate, north Dublin, belong to Daniel Aruebose, a child who has been missing for over four years.

The partial skeletal remains were discovered on Wednesday in an area just outside Donabate. Forensic tests will be carried out to confirm the identity of the remains, which are believed to be those of Daniel, who should be approaching his eighth birthday.

Daniel, born in Dublin on December 12th, 2017, began living in the Gallery Apartments in Donabate with his family in July 2019. However, he was last seen around the same time, and the alarm was only raised last month. It is understood that Daniel died in 2021.

Tusla, the child and family agency in Ireland, was responsible for Daniel's case. The case was closed by Tusla, but no new referral occurred until last month. It is unclear why the case was closed or who was involved in the last communication with Daniel in 2020, as the names of the persons involved are not available.

Two people at the centre of the current inquiry are believed to know how and when Daniel died, and why his death was concealed. Tusla works with families towards reunifying children with their parents when it is deemed to be in their best interests. However, it is known that Daniel spent the first year of his life in foster care and was reunited with his biological family over several months.

An area of land on Portrane Road in Donabate was sealed off for searching on September 1st. Tusla has universal support services available to families after a case is closed, but it is not clear if these services were offered to Daniel's family after the case was closed in 2020.

If Tusla receives a new referral, they assess it and determine the follow-up required. Gardai are urging anyone with information about Daniel's disappearance or death to come forward.

This tragic case has sent shockwaves through the community, and many are hoping for answers and justice for Daniel. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
