Philadelphia Eagles' QB Jalen Hurts Skips White House Visit Due to Scheduling Conflicts

Jalen Hurts, the star quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, was noticeably absent during their White House visit in April 2025. According to multiple sources, including NBC News and TMZ, Hurts' absence was due to scheduling conflicts[1][4].

The Eagles, who had won the Super Bowl in February 2025 with a convincing 40:22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, were invited to the White House by then-President Donald Trump. However, Hurts was unable to join his teammates for the traditional post-Super Bowl celebration[3][5].

While Hurts did not publicly comment on the matter, he appeared uncomfortable and noncommittal when asked about the visit during a Time magazine gala[1][4]. The Eagles' other team members attended the White House event without him.

Interestingly, Trump had shown support for the Kansas City Chiefs during the Super Bowl. Despite this, he hosted the Philadelphia Eagles at the White House after their victory[6]. Trump also praised Hurts, calling him "a great guy and a great player"[7].

The Super Bowl was held in New Orleans, where Trump attended a game at the stadium. In fact, Trump's visit marked the first time a sitting US president attended a game at the stadium[2]. The new stadium in Washington, where the Eagles' home games are played, cost a staggering 3.24 billion dollars[3].
