Brady Kiser Faces No Charges in Tragic Drowning Incident
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Brady Kiser, an Arizona father, found his three-year-old son, Trigg, unconscious in their backyard pool on a fateful day in 2025. The unsealed police report reveals that Trigg's death was due to being unsupervised while playing around the unsecured pool and his inability to swim.
The report sheds light on the critical moments leading up to the tragedy. Brady placed a $25 bet on Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum scoring over 40 points around 5:14–5:15 p.m., just an hour before the drowning. As the NBA playoff game started around 6:30 p.m., Trigg was playing in the backyard. Within about three minutes, he accidentally fell into the family pool and remained underwater for approximately seven minutes before Brady found him.
Police concluded that Brady's attention was "divided" by the sports betting and watching the game; he did not see Trigg fall or struggle in the water, and described losing sight of Trigg for three to five minutes. Video evidence showed Trigg fell in unintentionally, tripping on an inflatable chair, and was unsupervised near an unsecured pool.
Brady, who is the husband of popular online parenting influencer Emilie Kiser with over four million followers on TikTok, rescued Trigg from the pool and performed CPR. Despite his best efforts, Trigg passed away six days later in the hospital.
Initially, authorities pushed for courts to charge Brady with one count of child abuse. However, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office decided that Brady would not face charges due to "no reasonable likelihood of conviction." Emilie Kiser has since sued to block the release of investigative records, seeking to protect her son's memory and family privacy.
As of early August 2025, the latest publicly available developments indicate that the legal proceedings around the privacy of investigative records are ongoing due to Emilie Kiser's lawsuit.
